Legalization of the right to strike in France

The Ollivier Act abol­ished the le Chapelier Act of 1791 which pro­hibited coali­tions. The Empire showed more tol­erance towards workers since striking became legal. However, strikes were not to impinge on the freedom to work or to lead to any violence.
