The Paris Economics and Social Sciences (SES) Forum is an initiative of the Ministry of Education. 11th grade high school students studying economics and social sciences meet economists, sociologists and figures from the economic world, who address with them topics on their school syllabus and about current affairs.

In the run-up to the event,, students prepare questions on the theme of the forum, which they have already studied with their teacher, using in particular documentary resources available on the SES Forum website. They also take pictures to illustrate the theme, of which certain are chosen to be presented during the conference and used by the speakers. After the Forum, students select a topic and write, according to guidelines, a document to be published online.

The fourth SES forum, organised in partnership with the Cité de l’économie, took place on 20 January 2015 at the Lycée Diderot (Paris) on the theme of “Money”.

In order, the speakers were:
- Benoît Mojon, Director of the Monetary and Financial Studies - Banque de France, professor at École Polytechnique: “Who creates money and how?”
- Pierre-Cyrille Hautcoeur, economist and historian, Director of studies at EHESS, Chairman of EHESS : “What does the history of money teach us?”
- André Orléan, Paris School of Economics, Research Director at the CNRS, Director of studies at EHESS: “What is money for?”

The conference was moderated by Rémi Jeannin, pedagogue at the Cité de l’économie.

9 classes and 228 students from Paris participated in this 2015 SES Forum.
