EURO EXHIBITION

The Bank of France was involved with the European Central Bank in the organization of the exhibition "Euro: Expo" being held for the first time in France from June 10, 2011 to September 4, 2011 in the library of the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie (CSI).

Looking at money with new eyes: this was the aim of this exhibition that in particular targets 8 to 12-year-olds. Interactive and fun, the "Euro Exhibition" both entertained visitors while also teaching them more about euro banknotes and coins, using five different themes: banknotes, coins, security features, a kids’ corner and the history of money.

The Banque de France and the CSI library held workshops on euro banknotes. The library of the future Cité de l’Économie et la Monnaie offered a selection of children’s books available to the public (non-fiction works, stories, comic books, etc.) that deal with money, currency and exchange.

Books to read

A selection of non fiction books, fictions and other folktales on the topics of money, trade was provided by the Cité de l’Économie et la Monnaie for 5-12 years (see pdf).
