The 14th edition of the Rencontres économiques d’Aix-en-Provence was held from 4 to 6 July 2014 on the theme "Invest and invent tomorrow".

This forum, organised by the Cercle des Economistes, brought together academics, business leaders, political and institutional representatives and students from over 30 countries. Over the course of three days, the speakers discussed a number of economic issues related to investment: its role throughout economic history; its link to growth, confidence, research and technical progress, the digital revolution, education, inequality, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. They also addressed the contribution of the different means of financing investment (traditional and new), the role of the State in a context of fiscal constraint, taxation, etc.

As in 2013, the Rencontres invited students to speak up. The competition "Invest in the Future" enabled young people aged 18-28 with various academic backgrounds to share their views on the theme of the Rencontres. 100 presentations were selected. Their authors attended the forum, took part in discussions and led four sessions. The five winners, chosen by a jury chaired by Erik Orsenna were rewarded during the event.

As every year, the event ended with a final statement by the Cercle des Economistes.
