Making youngsters more aware of the main tax-related matters and helping them understand the role of tax for society: this is the ambition of Trésor Académie, an association which was created in 2010.

On January 19th, 2012, children of two day-care centers of Issy-les-Moulineaux (Ile-de-France) were invited by Trésor Académie to visit the Constitutional Council. They were able to learn more about the institution’s role regarding fiscal matters, especially with a quiz created for the event. In 2011, a similar visit was organized at the Ministry of Finance.

More generally, Trésor Académie is a project which aims at placing questions on taxation at the heart of the public debate. In order to do so, funny and educative tools are proposed to children aged 8 to 15. The main goal is to help them understand the purpose of taxation, and to make the future taxpayers more responsible regarding these matters. School visits, role-playing games, quizzes and other educational approaches have been put in place to make youngsters more aware of tax-related matters.

Trésor Académie and the Cité de l’économie et de la monnaie are considering a future partnership regarding their common educational aim to popularize economics.

The association is chaired by Manon Sieraczek, tax lawyer.
