This animated infographic shows how the rankings of the world’s 40 largest companies (by turnover, measured in dollars) changed between 2008 (the year Lehman Brothers collapsed) and 2013.
Users can see which of the 40 companies went up or down in the rankings, and which ones dropped out of or, on the contrary, entered the rankings.
The graphic also lets you see how all the groups in a particular geographical area performed (i.e. North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America), and identify overall trends for each continent or sub-continent over the last economic and financial crisis.
Data are from Fortune magazine’s Global 500 ranking.
