The 16th of january, The Banque de France Governor, Christian Noyer, accompanied by Brigitte Kuster, Mayor of the 17th arrondissement of Paris, inaugurated the exhibition “A new life for the Hôtel Gaillard”.
The exhibition presents the project of the “Cité de l’Économie et de la Monnaie” and its integration to the “Hôtel Gaillard”, former Banque de France Branch in Paris.
In their speeches, both gouvernor and mayor pointed out the excellent cooperation between Banque de France and the city council for the fulfillment of this major cultural and educational project.
In the audience, a few municipal counselors, the architect Yves Lion (Laureate of the architecture competition for the realisation of the “Cité de l’Economie”), many inhabitants from the neighborhood as well as several partners of the project. The following day, the project was also presented to the Hôtel Gaillard’s neighborhood, during a meeting of the quarter council.
